Therapy for Latinx
As Latinas, we know the value of seeing a therapist that understands my culture firsthand. We are therapists that understand the stigma that still exists in the Latinx community about mental health. Being of a collectivist culture has its benefits and can also make it difficult to take care of individual needs.
Family is a big part of our culture. Often stress and anxiety comes from being a family system where healthy boundaries are not encouraged or even welcome. We work together to set healthy boundaries, break codependency, all while improving self care without the guilt. It can be done! You don’t have to do this alone. We are in this together.
It’s likely you are the first person in your family to seek therapy. It takes courage to do something that’s never been done. We am happy to talk with you about any anxiety you feel about starting therapy.
